Good Bye Reader

Tomorrow Google is ending their Reader which is so sad as it is so easy to use.  But I found Bloglovin and started using it right after the announcement that it would end.
If you are already using Bloglovin then please follow me and if you are not consider using it.

Jewelry Organization

In the last couple of years I have grown my jewelry collection.  It had started to get out of control.  I had items in a jewelry box and two drawers of my dresser.  One drawer was getting out of control with items pretty much just thrown into it.  I got inspired while organizing the vanity to work on doing something about my jewelry too.

I bought some quilting fabric from Wal-Mart

And the bins from Lowe's I used in the vanity organization project.

I pulled out my hot glue gun and cut the fabric up into pieces.
Granted the pieces weren't very uniform and the first one I went to cut I just laid the fabric over the top not thinking about the extra needed to actually wrap the area.  Way to go me!  Thankfully that screw up wasn't so bad as I started with the largest bin and that piece worked to cover two of the smallest.

I loved that the fabric isn't just one pattern.

See I told y'all it was getting out of control.

I fit in as many pieces as I could.

This has made getting ready in the morning so much easier.

I don't know about y'all but I am needing a bit of motivation as of late.

I hope we all hit our goals for the month.

Raspberry Swirl Frozen Yogurt

I figured it was about time to try my hand with making frozen yogurt.  I found this recipe in an issue of Health magazine.  I think any berry could be used will have to try using strawberries or blackberries next time.

4 c. plain whole or reduced fat Greek yogurt
1 c. sugar, divided
2 tbsp. vodka
1 c. frozen raspberries, thawed

In a large bowl, stir together yogurt, 3/4 c. sugar, and vodka until sugar dissolves.

Pour into the freezer can of an ice cream  maker; freeze according to to the manufacturer's instructions.
In a medium bowl, mash together raspberries and remaining 1/4 c. sugar.

Swirl mixer into frozen yogurt; spoon yogurt into a metal loaf pan.

Cover and freeze for 1 hour or until firm.  To serve, leave yogurt at room temperature to soften slightly before scooping.

This turned out really great.  And yes I did have an issue with the whole swirl concept but that is okay because it tastes great.

Sunset on the Square

One of my favorite parts of the summer is the free concerts that pop up.  Each Thursday night in June there are free ones on the courthouse square.  It is a fun family night with free music and some food vendors out there selling dinner if you didn't pack your own.  Though I was a little sad that Scotty's wasn't selling their BBQ egg rolls as those things are wonderful.

Someone might have brought a couple things of bubbles for her little nephews.  It took less than five minutes for the first bottle to be spilled and a minor breakdown over the fact he was covered in bubbles.

We had to keep reminding G to blow softly so he could get bubbles out.

I don't think H realized that he was on a date with kk but that is what she had in her sweet little head.  This was the longest I have seen these three ever sit still.

H is determined to climb the trees on the courthouse square.

Ball season.

I spent my spring studying and hitting the ball parks to watch H play tball and soccer.

G is still to young this year to play.  So it was another year of chasing G around to keep him off the field.  I don't know what I will do if he is playing next year and I can sit through a whole game.

Saturdays were spent on the soccer field, when it wasn't rained out.  I got one good picture only because I agreed to send it to Mommy while she was traveling.

G & I went to the playground for one game to run around.  He had a blast climbing around but shocked me by not wanting to spend all his time on the swings as that was all he could talk about on the walk over.  So sad they removed the swing set from by the tball field.

I got one shot of H playing tball.

Hodge Podge

** I don't get why I can't post on some blogs from Bloglovin'.  Does anyone know what is causing this?

**  I am over the bugs already.

**  I want to go see the Southern Living Idea house.  I am still kicking myself for not going when they had one outside Oxford a couple years ago.

** I am loving that you can now search your own pins on Pinterest now.  It is really helping clean out some more doubles.

**  I don't think I could keep one of Yankee Candle Company's popcorn or bacon candles in my house.  They would just make me hungry all the time.

**  I am not sad that my summer class forced me to watch one of my favorite movies and for S and I to have a girls night out.

Makeup Brush Cleaner

We all know it is important to clean our make up brushes.  I admit I am not the best at remembering to clean them as often as I should.  So I went exploring on our old friend Pinterest to find some easier ways to clean them.  And found one I really love.

I was worried the first time I tried this the brushes would be left smelling like vinegar.  And thankfully they don't.  And the brushes dry pretty quickly too.  I have gotten better about cleaning my brushes weekly.

June Goals

We are close to the halfway mark for the year, how did that happen?  I have done pretty well with the goals I have been setting this year.  I didn't get my goal of cleaning out the flower beds completed but I got a start on it and realized that now that it is getting hot this probably will be put on hold until the fall now and hopefully then when I take a couple days off it won't rain the whole weekend and I can get the work done.  I don't feel bad about it because I did do some towards it and they are looking better.  I didn't get much done toward my cross-stitch project but I did work on it a couple hours.  I am really proud that I actually completed the 30 day squat challenge.  I really thought I would end up quitting when it got close to 200 squats in a day.  I lost a quarter inch off my hips.

June Goals

**  I talked Beth into do a challenge with me next month.  My goal is to do the

Tank top arms work out 3 times a week.

**  Do Cardio 4 times a week.

**  Go to the live play that is required for my music class.

**  work on organizing my jewelry.

** continue to pack my lunch 4 days a week.
